We are on the edges of our seats for that first snowfall and when it FINALLY happens, we are like children again. Adorning cozy, knit sweaters and wool scarves, we twirl in it, catching those fresh flakes on our tongues, we bury our mittens in it for play and we throw ourselves into it, stretching our bodies like angels. That first snow every year is always magic. Then we warm up with hot chocolate and tea, admiring the whimsical wonderland that lies just beyond our windows. We watch the moonlight bounce from crusted pearls and crystals that glimmer from the ground and then fall asleep grateful that we live in a world with snow.
And then...
The snowplows come. The cars drive by. The snow melts. People stomp through it. Then it rains. Then it freezes. Mud mixes in. Dogs lift their legs. And that beautiful, magical snow turns gray. The sky is gray. The trees are bare. It's cold outside. We miss the grass, the leaves, the trees, the warm sun, the scent of flowers.
Cue the Winter Blues.
It's common to feel this way on the cusp of Spring and those last few weeks of Winter might feel like months. You have the power to control your environment though! Did you know that just buying yourself some plants or flowers can fill in some of those gaps we're missing and bring us a little more joy? I did just that! I filled my home with flowers this month and I felt less gray and more productive because of it!
So, if you're waiting to schedule a session because you're stuck in those Winter Blues, let's dig you out! Maybe Winter is actually the BEST time to schedule a session! Come visit the studio or schedule a location and we'll make it Spring!
